A Whimsical, Enchanting, Magical

Romantic Southern Maine Bed and Breakfast

For its first forty years, the Inn was home to Chicago lumber baron and Hamilton College trustee Alexander Coburn Soper, and his wife Mollie Eliza Pope. This 1880s summer cottage estate later became the 5th York Historical Society Decorator Showcase in 1994. It was purchased by Andy & Su Wetzel in 2005. The Inn at Tanglewood Hall now offers a quiet oasis in the heart of quaint York Harbor with six exquisitely restored guest rooms. Relax in the reflective timeless ambiance of a gone-bye era with today’s amenities at this Southern Maine Bed and Breakfast Inn.

Step into our enchanting inn where a large foyer and hideaway room accent the antique and art-filled downstairs. Enjoy the airy sky blue parlor, cheerful morning room and sun-drenched dining room, all with fireplaces. The grand staircase leads to intimate guest rooms on the mezzanine and second floor levels. If steps are a challenge, stay on the first floor in the Billiard Room.

Sip a glass of wine or eat our scrumptious breakfast on the wrap-around veranda. We are surrounded by gardens and woodlands with birds chirping and the scent of ocean sea breezes. Our natural historic landscape features whimsical gardens with fountains illuminated by fairy lights at night. If you are relaxing indoors or out, the Inn at Tanglewood Hall offers a serene and magical escape for guests to unwind and savor the beauty of nature.
