OUR COVID-19 SAFETY RESPONSE

As a licensed Bed and Breakfast in the State of Maine and Town of York, we at the Inn at Tanglewood Hall are closely monitoring and abiding by the COVID-19 regulations and recommendations of the Maine CDC. After April 30th, we will be reducing the number of occupied guest rooms available to three, so that at any given time there will be no more than 8 persons in the house (including ourselves). We will also only be open on Weekends, which means we can guarantee that no one else will have been in your room for at least a minimum of five days. The Inn has over 5000 square feet of living space allowing for optimum social distancing. We have separate living quarters on the third floor.

We are now being even more hyper-vigilant about sanitation in our guest rooms and contact surfaces in our common areas, and have implemented additional protocols using EPA certified COVID-19 Cleaning Products to help minimize exposure risks.  We both have been ServSafe certified since the mid-1970s.  Our dishwasher is NSF Sanitary Certified and our clothes washer and dryer both have specifically designed Sanitation cycles. We have also purchased a commercial ozone machine that can eradicate CV present in a room within 15 minutes.

In addition, breakfast selections will now be able to be pre-ordered the evening before and can be enjoyed in the privacy of your room or eventually in warmer weather outside on our front porch at individual tables.  We have refrigerators available for all of our rooms for those who wish to bring your own food rather than purchasing local take-out or delivery from many of our favorite restaurants that are providing this service. In order to support optimum social distancing and best practices protection for all, all guests will have the option of Self Check-in and Self Check-out. We will provide you the front door security door code and directions to your room along with other pertinent info. We will encourage communication via text or phone calls.

We are just a small independent B&B, so cancellations affect us dramatically. During these difficult times if you decide to cancel, we will be issuing a Cancellation Credit Voucher for a future stay for the full amount of your deposit for any cancellations that fall within our original nonrefundable 14 day notice cancellation policy that was agreed upon when booking.  If you cancel 14 days before arrival, we can either issue you a Cancellation Credit Voucher for the full amount of your deposit, or your deposit can be refunded, less our normal $25 fee per each room cancelled for costs we incurred to process your reservation.

Purchase Gift Certificates

  • Southern Maine B&B Gift Certificates

A Gift Certificate from the Inn at Tanglewood Hall makes a wonderful holiday, wedding, anniversary, or birthday present. Gift certificates are also a great way to express your gratitude towards that special employee. Gift certificates may be purchased with a credit card by phone or online by clicking the icon above. Be sure to note how you wish the TO and FROM sections to appear.

  • Reservations

We require a one night’s stay or 50% deposit (whichever is larger) for each room to be processed at the time the reservation is made.  This deposit shall apply to your last night(s) stay. (Non-contiguous dates are considered as separate reservations requiring individual deposits.) The balance is due upon your arrival at Check-in. Late Arrivals (after 6PM) will be charged the balance due that day to the card on file.

  • Payment

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and Cash. Prices are subject to Maine Lodging Tax of 9%. Our Inn at Tanglewood Hall Gift Certificates are also available for lodging redemption only, unless otherwise specified previously. We do accept BnBFinder.com Gift Certificates or Cards.

  • Cancellations

COVID-19 Cancellations: During these difficult times if you decide to cancel, we will be issuing a Cancellation Credit Voucher for a future stay for the full amount of your deposit for any cancellations that fall within our original nonrefundable 14 day notice cancellation policy that was agreed upon when booking.  If you cancel 14 days before arrival, we can either issue you a Cancellation Credit Voucher for the full amount of your deposit, or your deposit can be refunded, less our normal $25 fee per each room cancelled for costs we incurred to process your reservation. We also reserve the right to turn away symptomatic guests upon arrival.

We are just a small independent B&B, so cancellations affect us dramatically. When we guarantee an accommodation we enter into a contract and lose the opportunity to reserve the room for others who wish to stay with us. Notice given 14 days (or more) prior to a room reservation will receive a full refund less a $25.00 credit card handling fee for each room cancelled. Cancellations or changes within the 14-day period will incur a loss of deposit. Last minute cancellations or changes (within 5 days of the reservation) will be responsible for the entire reserved stay. We will try our best to rerent and will prorate refunds accordingly. Regretfully, we can not grant refunds for early departures or late arrivals. As we have no control over weather (during winter we will try to accommodate rescheduling within a reasonable time frame), extended family situations, guest illnesses, airline delays or flight cancellations, etc., our cancellation policies apply equally under those circumstances. For this reason we recommend purchasing trip insurance for your peace of mind.  Travel insurance for a minimal fee is available at iTravelInsured.

  • Group Reservations

We happily host guests for area weddings and events. For group reservations of three rooms or more, the balance is due 14 days prior to the reservation. We do not rent out our entire home (all six rooms) for group events.

  • Minimum Stays

Two Nights on Saturdays generally from May 15th through Veteran’s Day, also some Holidays. Please contact us for exceptions.

  • Check In

Between 3:00PM and 6:00PM only, unless special arrival arrangements have been confirmed with advance notice.

  • Check Out

Due to Fire Safety Code our rooms are intended for 2 persons only, with the exception of the Cottage Rose Suite which allows 1 additional person ($25).

  • Children

We have been honored to host many wonderful kids here. However, we do ask all parents to thoughtfully evaluate their children’s personal supervisory needs before considering this inn.  It is not child-proofed for their safety and there are many fragile collections and antiques throughout the inn.

  • No Pets

Smoking is permitted only in outside areas 25 feet from any building per Maine State law, a $500 charge will be charged to your card on file for smoking of any kind (includes vaping) in our rooms or on porches. Due to fire and insurance codes the burning of candles or incense is also prohibited for the safety of all.
